This is the short version of how privacy works on Zorentia. The full Privacy Policy has more detail.
The important things
1. You must be at least 13
Zorentia is for people aged 13 or older. We ask you to tell us whether you are 13-17 or 18+. We do not ask for your exact birthday.
2. We keep account information small
For a normal student account, we mainly need your email and an internal account ID. We do not normally ask for your student name, phone number, postal address or date of birth.
3. Your projects are private unless you publish them
Your project is private by default.
If you choose Make public, people with the link can see the public project page. Do not put your name, email, phone number, address, passwords, private school information or someone else's private information on that page.
Zorentia does not run an Explore feed or public directory of student projects. We also tell search engines not to index public project pages, but we cannot promise that another person or website will not copy something you publish.
4. Public feedback is designed to be anonymous
People leaving feedback on your public project page are not asked for their name, email or phone number. You do not get their technical visitor ID or IP address.
5. Your school can see limited admin information
If your school or university gives you Zorentia access, its authorised administrators may see things such as:
- your email;
- your cohort;
- whether you have logged in or been active;
- your current milestone or stage; and
- your credit usage.
They do not automatically get your raw prompts, private project ideas or generated code through the institution dashboard.
6. AI helps you, but you still need to check its work
Zorentia uses AI to help with planning and building. AI can be wrong. Check generated code and recommendations before you use or deploy them.
Zorentia uses Amazon Bedrock for generative AI. Zorentia's current Bedrock setup disables service-side prompt/response retention, but Zorentia may still save your own project inputs and outputs in your account so your project works when you return.
7. Security scans can send code to Zorentia
If you later choose to use the Zorentia IDE security scanner, your project code can be sent to Zorentia for the scan. The full raw bundle is processed temporarily, while security findings and some derived analysis may be kept for a limited period.
8. Research invitations are for people you already have permission to contact
If you send research invitations through Zorentia, you must only contact people who agreed to hear from you for that research. Do not use Zorentia to spam people or build marketing lists.
9. If you are 13-17, an adult must buy an individual paid plan
You can use an eligible free individual account. If you want an individual paid plan, a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 must complete the purchase and accept the Guardian Paid Account Terms.
If your school is providing the account, the school is the customer instead.
10. You can ask us about your information
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or request deletion where available and appropriate.
